If you don’t get compensated for it, take your value to somewhere that will compensate you for it. If you still can’t get compensated, then you overvalue yourself compared to how society values you. This...plus your direct familiarity with that particular job as it pertains to that particular employer puts you in a position of "power" in the sense replacing you with a "man" off the street would require months/years of investment in an unknown quantity.
A relatively small investment in that person every year and recognition of his contributions is far more likely to result in a happy, productive and loyal employee rather than getting a new guy in that position every year who will never know the company/products/services/company culture etc as well as a guy that's been there for X number of years.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

its not the society that gauges your value and pays your wages, its the bussiness owners and although the value of human labor are universally all the same [assuming all humans are the same and race doesnt exist], the monetary value required to harness it is different.
a pro coder who lives in new york might need 50 an hour to be able to support himself and live comfortably but a street shitting dalit pro coder who lives in street shitting dalit city somewhere in india needs just 5 per hour to enjoy the same kind of living comfort as the coder in new york does.
it is absurd to equate their wages based on "how society values you" mechanism you mentioned. -

But apparently even they are having trouble in that sector finding people for that money. It's crazy because I might actually consider doing that if this current thing doesn't work out.
The only thing I would be willing to do for less money that feels worth my time is something that I enjoy or is chill and productive with no FUCKERY. I would take less money for long term stability at this point. -

Yes money isn't everything. If you can find a job that pays 75k and you do 15 mins work a day and surf the net the rest of the day... that's better than a job paying 100k where you have to work a full shift. -

That sounds horrible. Being bored at work is the worst. Being busy makes the day go by quickly and you can at least feel somewhat productive. If all else is equal and the stress isn’t too bad, I’d take 100k and busy over 75k and bored any day. -

Well I'm operations manager of a Manufacturing company...not technically a "mundane" job, though thanks to my excellent delegation and automation directives it has become pretty mundane.

Excellent. I have a fairly lean team so I manage a couple people and then also do some individual contributor stuff. Next level up for me would be just a people manager, which feels for me to not actual “do” anything. I gotta work on those soft skills since that’s all they care about at those levels.
