runnign desktop speaker off battery

   is 24 volt speaker i licked the wire before do i have to shoot 24v into the speaker to mek it run or if its just like 12 or 18v will it run still or just be more quite

   can u use a rc car battery or shud i get sum 9v batterys and stack them can i just stack 2x2 in parellel for 18v and it will work???
