    Hard to say but generally pitchers pitched alot more innings back in the day, it's kind of a watered down playing field if you're playing
    a)during the war
    b) excluding other races

    The negro leagues typically played around the same number of games though but sometimes the fields had short "porches" (will allow you to make a tasteless joke here) which made hitting home runs alot easier.

    Generally speaking Satchel Paige is one of the greatest players of all time, regardless of race. No one since has ever come close to pitching at the major league level at 60. I think CC Sabathia got the closest

    He said at different times the ball would appear larger or smaller to him and he still no hit them.

    David wells through a no hitter when he was at least half drunk too. I remember watching him as a kid and seeing the same mannerisms in the local drunks.

    So many good baseball stories. Kirk Gibson getting off a stretcher to hit a game winning home run off Dennis eckersley in the world series is one of my favorites too.
