I miss the chatroom culture or the 90s

   any of you remember the aol or yahoo chats? like how it was a free for all and all ages welcome with their own even rooms or sections? it seems that they just keep trying to take all the fun from the world wide web away by letting chatroom culture die and chatrooms being either non accessible or heavily moderated and full of spam bots. A single chat I know of is the only one left i know of that retains the spirit of that culture. even in poland all the chats have disappeared from onet.pl/chat to wp chat etc. and people had to find a new home and migrate from one chat service to another until they were all gone. chats to me are much better than a bar. you can have beers get drunk and have fun in a chat without risk of arrest or an injury when going to a dive bar full of loons or agressive morons. chat culture shows the delcine of the whole internet imo.

   Back in the early/mid 90s I used to be a mod on IRC channel #London on EFnet. The channel owner went by the "handle" of Hedge, he banned me after I had sexy time with one of the other mods that he was in love with.
   
   He'd message me everyday about how he went over to her house and she wanted to just be friends etc asking me what he should do to change that and general tips about attracting women.
   
   Meanwhile she was messaging me to come visit her for sexy times, which I did (we also played sit down 2 player Sega Rally in her local Arcade which was fun).
   
   He (hedge) found out because my stupid friend who I told got jealous and told hedge of my nobbing exploits.
   
   Then the female mod in question called me at work and screamed down the phone for "bragging" about the sexy times we had. She worked at London's Cyber Cafe "Cyberia" which was quite a thing at that time.
