You still think there is a difference between the two parties. That is so cute.

Short on options, Trump pushes a new idea: A do-over election
    Steve Benen

The fact that Donald Trump refuses to abandon his weird election conspiracy theories is not surprising. What's notable, however, is how the former president is following through on the Big Lie.

On Friday night, for example, the Republican issued a written statement, featuring his idiosyncratic approach to capitalization, which began, "A new analysis of mail-in ballots in Pima County, Arizona means the election was Rigged and Stolen from the Republican Party in 2020, and in particular, its Presidential Candidate."

After a few paragraphs of related palaver, Trump concluded, "Either a new Election should immediately take place or the past Election should be decertified and the Republican candidate declared the winner."

Right off the bat, it's important to note that the former president has no idea what he's talking about. As the NBC affiliate in Phoenix reported, Pima County officials received a large amount of mail-in ballots, which was consistent with statewide turnouts.

Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry rejected Trump's suggestions that fraud took place in southern Arizona last November. "Pima County conducted a free, fair, secure, and accurate election. The results were publicly audited via hand count by the County's Republican and Democratic parties, and the results were certified by the Pima County Board of Supervisors and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey," he said Friday.

The same report from KPNX added that Pima County has a bipartisan commission that's tasked with ensuring local elections run smoothly.

"Pima County may be the only County in Arizona with such a multi-partisan commission whose sole role is to advise the County Board of Supervisors and the Elections Department on the conduct and security of county-administered elections," Huckelberry explained.

What's more, the fact that the Republican is floating the idea of an "immediate" do-over election is kind of hilarious. Indeed, consider the core message behind a pitch: Yes, the vote count showed Trump losing. And yes, so did the recounts. And sure, there have been multiple audits and reviews, and all of the conspiracy theories have been discredited. Nevertheless, it makes sense to the former president that the responsible thing to do is to have another election — to see if he likes those results better.

But my favorite part of this is Trump's subtle geographic shift. Let's not forget that over the course of the year, he saw Maricopa County, Arizona, as the lynchpin of his entire strategy. Once there was a sham "audit" of Maricopa County's ballots, it would serve as the first domino that would "undo" his defeat and magically propel him back into the White House.

That strategy, obviously, failed spectacularly. And with that in mind, Trump has effectively arrived at a new point: "Never mind Maricopa County, how about Pima County?"

Shlomo knows you can't have a debate with an article. It can't answer challenges or counter facts. Key word it. You can't argue with an it. You can read it or, based on tracked history, consider the source and choose not to read propaganda. I choose not to read it. Having made that choice there can be no discussion.

I hope that clears things up for you simp.

Jordan Klepper Exposes MAGA Morons Who Still Think ‘Trump Won’
    Matt Wilstein

Jordan Klepper hadn’t attended a Trump rally since he inadvertently found himself in the middle of the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, “a day no one will ever forget, unless you’re a Republican member of Congress,” the Daily Show contributor joked in his latest dispatch. But this past week, Klepper boldly returned to the scene, trolling the crowd at the former president’s big Iowa event for the most embarrassing devotees he could find.

What he discovered more than anything was banners, flags, and deluded supporters all proclaiming that “Trump Won” as loudly as they could. “And even though Trump won, they’re hoping he runs again,” Klepper explained. “Are we ready for this? I mean, the last guy hasn’t even conceded yet.”

He tracked down one couple that warned former Vice President Mike Pence would not be welcome in the crowd. “Do you think Mike Pence will show up here today or does he not want to hang?” Klepper asked, the double meaning seeming to go over their heads.

“I think he would be afraid to show up here today,” the woman responded. When he asked why, she shot back, “Because he was a coward and he didn’t do the right thing, that’s why!” She denied, as Klepper suggested, that he might want to stay away because “these people tried to kill him.” The man beside her, who was wearing a t-shirt that showed former President Donald Trump giving two middle fingers above the words “One for Biden, One for Harris,” saw no irony in his complaints that the current administration was “giving the middle finger” to the whole country.

And then there were the two men holding a “Trump 2024: Take America Back” banner who were particularly concerned about the “border crisis.” Klepper asked them, “And you’re from Iowa? So you’re worried about people coming in from Minnesota?”

Another man calmly explained that he believes Trump is secretly still running the military but blanched when Klepper suggested he would then have to take the blame for the mess in Afghanistan. None of them seemed to believe that their MAGA brethren were responsible for Jan. 6, instead claiming “antifa,” the “corrupt FBI,” and the “deep state” were actually behind the attack.

Two other women in matching MAGA hats and American flag overalls similarly pushed back on the notion that Trump supporters are a “cult,” while at the same time saying, “I feel like whatever he spews out of his mouth, I just love it.”

“It doesn’t matter what he says?” Klepper asked them. “But this isn’t a cult?”

“I don’t think so,” one replied with a straight face.

Eric Trump Calls Out Joe Biden for Spending Time Away From White House
    Khaleda Rahman

Eric Trump has criticized President Joe Biden for spending time away from the White House during times of national crisis.

The son of former president Donald Trump made the comments during a discussion about the ongoing supply chain crisis on Fox News's Hannity on Monday night.

Eric Trump criticized Biden for going to his home in Wilmington, Delaware, during the withdrawal from Afghanistan and accused others in his cabinet of fleeing Washington, D.C., at critical moments instead of "getting to work" to solve problems.

"The other thing that really bothers me, Sean, about this situation is, where is everybody during this crisis?" he asked host Sean Hannity. "Every crisis that Biden has and every single day there's another one, whether it be Afghanistan or the border, right, the leaders leave."

He went on to allege that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is "nowhere to be found" and accused Vice President Kamala Harris of avoiding traveling to the U.S.-Mexico border after the arrival of thousands of mostly Haitian migrants at a camp in Del Rio, Texas.

"So Pete Buttigieg during this whole crisis is nowhere to be found," Eric Trump said. "He's on paternity leave, right, but then you add Kamala Harris when you have this massive border crisis and where does she go? She goes nowhere near the border in fact she goes to South America to not solve that problem and she goes overseas to Asia to again not work on that problem.

"When Afghanistan is falling, guess what? You have President Biden who is in Delaware not solving that problem. Why is it that every person in the Biden cabinet flees and runs away every single time there's a problem as opposed to actually putting their head down, getting to work and solving the damn problem?"

A brief clip that featured Trump's comment about Biden went viral after it was posted on Twitter by journalist Aaron Rupar.

"Eric Trump criticizes Joe Biden for spending time at his personal property instead of the White House," Rupar wrote. "Irony is deader than dead."

Others also pointed out the hypocrisy of the comment, pointing to the frequent visits Donald Trump took to Trump-branded properties and golf courses during his presidency.

"Maybe Eric will accuse Biden of nepotism while he's at it," one user quipped.

Another joked: "Imagine what the Trumps would say if Biden was caught on a golf course!"

According to the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), Donald Trump made about 550 visits to Trump-brand properties and at least 328 visits to his golf clubs during his term despite telling reporters during his candidacy that he would "rarely leave the White House" as president.
