Can we appreciate that the bible says attacking balls in a fight is off limits?

2016-09-26 at 5:49 AM UTCIf there is one thing to be learnt from the bible it is to be charitable to your fellow man. Here i have brought scripture.
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.
Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and He shall say, Here I am
What a sense of comfort it provides does it not? Do good and the Lord will be there for you.

and he shall follow with, "you'll never catch me, faggot!"
though you may chase Him, he shall throw obstacles in your path such as Ducks and possibly a Logg, and before you reach His glory your body will be Broken! -

If there is one thing to be learnt from the bible it is to be charitable to your fellow man.
Charity is nice and all but it is for the privileged. I do not disagree that much of the life of the Prophet and Messiah was one of charitable act but realistically far more people in this world need charity than can give to those who need it. Not to bring into the equation those who can give but will not. Or those who can give but think they could not. Charity is nice and it is certainly a Christian notion. Looking at the history of the church it was a major provider before (unfortunately) government stepped into the charity game and they still are a very close second. But as I have said, charitable acts that have real impact are those that are done by people with the means to make a meaningful impact.
The lord says to drop your worldly wealth and follow him but that is unrealistic to do in its entirety. Consider an entrepreneur who has come into a fine excess of currency. Would the world benefit more if he literally dropped his wealth and followed in the lord? Or would the way to follow be to perpetuate this excess and the business it stems from while living only on what you need while being able to comfortably run your business and give large charitable contributions or fund a separate charity in its entirety?
My favorite passage is this First Corinthians 9 19-23
"For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the jedis I became as a jedi, that I might gain the jedis; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you."
I find that it allows the Christian flexibility. It isnt something that says you must live under a strict code and disavow those that are not of your sect. It tells me that one should be open to the differences of others and through that openness both parties may benefit. It speaks of chilling with jedis who killed the messiah. It speaks of hanging with criminals. It speaks of hanging with degenerates. And it speaks of a duty to lift these people up. To gain jedis, I do not think means to convert them, but rather to reach a mutual understanding and a rewarding symbiosis. To be without law speaks of a separation between the law of god and man and that mans is imperfect and that through this those on the wrong side of legal jurisdiction are not always on the wrong side of moral jurisdiction. To gain the weak and to be the weak is to understand that sometimes the weak are much stronger and though we may see ourselves as strong there is weakness in the nature of man. To become weak to the weak strengthens them and humbles yourself.
I dunno man. Im probably just rambling. My point is that love and charity are breddy gool but the bible has a lot more to offer than "Be nice to the neighbors!"
