    if you buy it for your midlyfe crysis, get the most expensive one you can afford.

    the high price helps to sooth the pain of being middle aged.

    if you intend to use them ocassionally, get some online.

    also rheostat can be use to maintain precise temperature, you just need to find out the voltage it need to maintain your desired temp.

    my favourite

    has both a micro USB (5v) and a 12v transformer port; I only ever ran it off a USB battery a couple of times but it worked fine, just took longer to warm up

    I mostly liked the narrow grip so you could hold it like a pencil, but you could also digitally key in a temperature and see when it hit it instead of just turning the knob and waiting a few minutes

    the only time I could see a proper $200+ station being worthwhile is if you were running it 8 hours a day and need that kind of reliability
