This is pretty interesting. Basically he pretended to have a bomb, got the plane to land, and got a ransom and a parachute delivered to him. Then he had the plane take off with just the flight crew, jumped out of the plane, and presumably lived happily ever after.

Everyone has heard of this case, especially since there's a Netflix doc now. It really captures the imagination and became a folk hero for getting away with stuff like Ned Kelly

He got caught for some other shit and got life without parole iirc, died in prison iirc. He told another prisoner, Michael Schofield where he'd buried the money iirc. Schofield escaped and went and dug the loot up iirc and went on some long ass chase with the fbi and shit iirc. I think he went south America iirc and got locked up in some shitty south American prison but escaped from there too iirc. Pretty interesting story iirc.
