A 486 is like a clapped out Ford Escort, or whatever the cheapest, most basic car was where you lived. That is all it will ever be, a very basic, commodity piece of hardware. The sort of thing everyone had, and everyone was glad to upgrade away from.
I just don't see the point. "Oh, look at this 1990 Volkswagen Polo. It's slow, uncomfortable, rusty, burns oil, and is ugly." I don't get it.
That was a bad analogy because Polos can actually have good motors like the VR6 or TDi -

No, he's literally playing it on less than bare minimum specs. The motherboard he has is actually for a 386, and the CPU is one designed as for doing a 386 -> 486 swap.
If he was smart he'd have gotten a Pentium I or II
