   It was actually developed by machine games one of the best official develoeprs of new wolfenstein I believe or doom games or both. Imagine if this brilliant work was actually what the original quake consisted of. It is truly a marvel of architectural design. Just look at the architecture like the fans spinning and shadows in some of the levels it contains.
