My dog is sick.

My mom messaged me telling me I should come and see him today even though I was going to be over tomorrow anyways to take both my dogs to the vet.
At first I was hoping that it was just another false alarm but I got there and it was pretty apparent he really isn't doing so well.
It has been a day or so since he has ate or drank and the entire time I was there he never got up off the floor.
His breathing is labored and his eyes are tired looking.
He did raise his head up to look at me for a while and wagged his tail for a second.
But then he laid his head back down.
I petted him a bunch and told him it was going to be okay and that he was a good dog and I love him.
Last year he had a similar episode but this time he just doesn't look like he has any fight left in him.
I cancelled his vet appointment as there is just no way I'm getting him in the car.
Just moving him would probably kill him.
I love my dogs a lot.
He has been with me through a hell of a lot.
Right after my first stint in rehab I got him and he was with me through some really good times and really bad times.
It never mattered what mood I was in or what was going on in the world, my dog was always happy to see me.
As it stands now I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make it through the day.
I hope that he gets better but ultimately it is in God's hands. -

The adoption place I got him from had named his whole litter after pastas.
His name that they had given him was tortellini so I just made it up with some of the same sounding letters. -

I can only sort of agree with you about your statement.
While technically I do own my dog as a Pimp would his child hooker, I do not ask of my dog as a Pimp does of his lil' money maker. -

Trying to assign a human emotion to a dumb animal is pretty dumb. Dogs are not capable of love as we know it. They simply have pack instinct and you are their pack leader.
If you were dead in the house and it had no food source it would eat you...that would likely not happen with a human who loved you...they would not eat you. -
