2021-09-07 at 10:25 PM UTCDoes anyone else have it? I just got it last month as my choice before that was "radio" internet at about 15Mbps down. One of the few disadvantages of living remote is a lack of cable services. But Starlink rocks even in beta. For less than $100 per month I get speeds of up to 500Mbps downstream with averages of around 200 and up to 100Mbpsupstream with averages around 25. I do experience very short periods of no signal once or twice per day but they are very brief (10 - 20 seconds) and do not affect streaming video services. The only negative to the signal loss is if you are in a multiplayer game. But who cares about that, it's all just a game.
So if anyone else has Starlink post your speed results.

2021-09-07 at 10:38 PM UTCBeen using cell phone tether and/or dedicated cellular modem for a few years. I'll probably sign up for starlink or a competitor if/when they offer a portable system/vehicle-mounted antenna.
Cellphone speeds are usually dece in town but satellite would be sweet for remote areas. I've been looking at upgrading my cellular equipment and maybe even stepping up to 5G gear but it's pretty pricey -
2021-09-07 at 11:19 PM UTC5G is another necessity out here.4G is weak and slow in my area but 5G is faster than my previous wireless/radio ISP was. I used to tether my ROKU to my 5G

Son I was upgrading memory on motherboards when you needed a soldering iron. I have forgotten more about technology than you currently know. No. really I have forgotten most of on purpose. I am retired and only learned the crap to avoid hard work and earn a decent dollar. -

Well it still in beta and not scheduled for completion until 2024 or 2030 depending on which reports you read. I am not sure how many satellites are up now but they plan for 12k and eventually 42k. So I imagine it will just get faster.
They did pause launching in June to add lasers...
"— SpaceX hasn't launched any Starlink internet satellites since June. It turns out it's because the company has been adding "lasers" to the spacecraft. Since it last launched a batch of Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit on June 30, SpaceX has been quiet about what's next for the constellation.Aug 25, 2021."
