2021-08-23 at 1:26 PM UTCThe one that gets me even more is the masks on airplanes requirement. There is no way they're preventing shit in a tube full of people packed together. I wonder if there's a video simulation of what the air flow pattern would look like with masks vs without , on an airplane.

A well ventilated tube. The fact of the matter is, masks work. well. -

I was trying to hit a restaurant that had closed of better quality food and ended up at Mel's diner because I was craving a patty melt when I remembered they were around the corner.
Every other place was packed with college and techie kids and young tourist.
Average age 25. If I chose it's safe to drive people again, that will be my go-to weekend spot. So much fucking surge pricing goes on.im not driving again after working 1 night driving food and seeing it dropped off significantly. Everyone is going out again. But I'm 2-3 feet from people. Not exactly a safe time just yet if it's still killing peeps. -

Im just curious what it would look like. The ventilation can't be that good that it's preventing the virus from floating all over in there.
It's just a funny thought to me. In the airport lobby everyone is all spread out and social distancing guidelines are in place, only to just CRAM TOGETHER shortly afterward. -

its so funny that even though we've known that covid is a respiratory disease since like a month or two into wuhan, we have done absolutely nothing to upgrade filtration systems in public areas. masks are fine, whatever, but rethinking ventilation with viruses in mind would do a lot more for grocery stores, airports, theatres, etc. of course instead of talking about what might actually work there's just arguing about masks. -
