When I was a kid the Kinks song Lola was really popular. I think it came out in the early-mid 60s.
But its not something people would blare on their radio now. the same with the song by Romeo Void "Never say Never" about a girl who's father raped her. but it was a popular song from the melody. until people figured out the song lyrics. the video was made during the singers time spent at San Francisco Art Institute. doesn't show anything related to the lyrics and is more artistic. but this is how people go not noticing shit. it's in the lyrics not the melody which most people don't listen to lyrics often.
