Anyone play? I've sunk some hours into it the last month. I have to say I've enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Never been big into roguelikes. It feels like the Borderlands 2 super interesting/jank spreadsheets-required endgame only you get there in maybe 4 hours instead of 60.
Biggest criticism is that pretty much any sort of intelligent play requires command which is something you don't start out with (and also feels like how the game was meant to be played) but then semi-trivializes the game if you don't throw in other stuff to make it harder.

I've somehow unlocked just about everything except beating the last boss, including looping
I really liked how they were able to preserve the atmosphere and feel from the original while going from 2D to 3D, though most of it's down to the music

did you play the original? same guy did the soundtrack, I liked most of those tracks better

I didn't, I'll check the music out. Is the game itself worth going back to? I know people liked it a lot on release, side scrolling 2d just seemed kinda limiting for a game where exploration was supposed to be such a big part of it.

yeah it's really good, I used to play a lot and only recently realised it's possible to play on android even though they never released a mobile version
