Programming question: Creating a pseudo radio station out of local music collection

   I want to create live stations out of my music files that I could tune through
   
   And I want to to make it so after every two or three songs there are commercials, which would be files from a folder I would label as commercials

   This would be a radio simulator that would play stations I would create “live” for me
   Basically like a glorified shuffle

   easiest way to do it would just be to create playlists with your ad segments in them and stream as normal

   If you’re not familiar with this concept look up “pseudotv live”
   
   The idea is to create a program or plugin for foobar2000 that would take playlists and play them in real-time so I could tune through “stations” like I would real satellite radio

   No I want these to continue to play in the background 24/7 and I want to flip through them without the playback being affected

    yeah the only way you're going to be able to 'switch between' them is to stream them locally and switch between the streams

    when you say "tune through" are you talking about some kind of slider that, as you slide, you can hear snatches of audio files?
