Probably not, if that's the only thing keeping him in a place he hates living than even if he ends up struggling he would probably be happier and enjoy life more if he was able to make his own choices and follow his dreams.
Go move to a legal weed state and learn to grow. That's what I did and my life went on a completely different path than if I just stayed in my home town and got a job where my dad works.
People like §m£ÂgØL say white cultures are bad because the kids want to leave their family compared to asian and mexican families that have 30 year old ronaldo in the basement until he gets his motel manager degree and even then he still lives at the family home until he gets a wife.
