Have you ever been to a special Olympics finale race?
They get all the athletes together and run a final mass 1-lap dead free-for-all sprint between everyone and obviously everyone falls all over one another almost immediately , but they let the race go on and the crowd can't go down to help the injured ones. Basically everyone just has to wait until someone wins the race. And then they slowly pick everyone up and cart the appropriate people off, injured and deceased respectively, and then start handing out the trophies.
The point is that they hand out trophies through 11 places in the special Olympics. I bet you didn't know that. Now you do. š
