Just fired up the free base game and wasted about 4 hours until the game glitches and I died, then got better, and the same dialogue box kept popping up. I did cheat, so maybe the memory edit I used messed up the games logic or something, or maybe it's just buggy.
Anyway CKII is a huge time sink.

Only game I actually appreciate the subscription model for, I only ever play ck2 for a week or two at a time so definitely don’t want to burn all that cash on expansions.

So I went and I downloaded it off the pirate bay instead, cos my money is important.
Spent the whole day playing as a king in the 9th century and managing my family. It was pretty neat being able to have concubines, made breeding like a rabbit a little easier. With lots of kids to marry various lords and foreign rulers the game is much easier. As well as that I cheat for cash, so I don't have to worry about wars, I just use mercenaries. There is a lot of learning in this game to be able to play it well, and it just eats up the hours like nothing else.
