So I looked into it and it was as I suspected: Kilo generally means 1000 of something. So if he burn 100k calories then... He literally burned the average caloric requirement of 50 men per day, in one run.

A kilocalorie is another word for what's commonly called a calorie, so 1,000 calories will be written as 1,000kcals.
