2021-06-09 at 3:17 PM UTCFurther on the words not being offensive thing.
Back when I was you young-fella-me-lad-son-of-a-bitch the words "Queer" and "Thick" were deemed offensive...Queer being the equivalent of faggot and Thick being the equivalent of Retard.
Those words have since been "adopted" by faggots and fat bitches to be positive words, queer being an accepted descriptor for members of the LGBT*Q* community and Fatties unhappy with the term "FAT" adopting the "Thick" moniker...which again meant dumb/retarded when I was a nipper...example: "Dude, you're thick as pig shit".
This highlights the fact perfectly that words themselves CANNOT be offensive...only how weak humans process those words in their head can be offensive.
One can choose not to be offended by words. -
2021-06-09 at 3:20 PM UTCAnther example.
There's an old joke which I wont relate all the way but basically it involves replacing "fuck off" with "how nice"....
The joke was basically several lines about person 1 telling person 2 something that person 2 didn't like so rather than saying "fuck off" they responded with "how nice"
So..back in the dark days of the late 80s early 90s a guy who worked for me back then told me the joke. However...after that he started responding "how nice" when I'd admonish him for not working, or being late etc...obviously he was telling me to fuck off without actually telling me to fuck off.
In my head I had taken the term "how nice" and evolved it into being an "offensive" statement.
That was my mind (and his) making that change..the words themselves did not change or offend. -

You sound like an expert at recognizing when another man's asshole is available for your use. -

those are American terms too. Queen was still used though Faggot was used more often. But then again. Faggot didn't mean you were a Gay but rather you suck as a person (which probably means you such dick) and because it' had a more harsher Germanic sounding affect on the person you yelled it at. It was totally school yard insult. and it stuck with the Boomer/Xgen up into their adult years where the pre boomer generation might of sad "Mary" or "Hotel Motel" or candy ass or some shit.
Queen was probably used more on the East Coast by boomers while West Coast was clearly Faggot. our middle finger gesture was different too. West Coast you extended the thumb out with the Middle and the East Coast was strictly Middle Birdie with the thumb tucked in.
everything now is carbon copy of one another. accents are basicly Pan America which is basic. East Coaster sound like west coasters but business office rather than Val or Surf durp durp.
only the south and some North Westerns like Chicago have accents left it seems. -

You have control yourself of what you find offensive or not…if you are offended by a word that's your doing, not the words…you control your thoughts and how you process them.

Retail workers like to say
"have a nice rest of your day" or "have a better day"...as they eject irate Karens from the store. -

2021-06-10 at 7:22 PM UTCMy calloused hands were do bad they didn't start peeling off until 3-4 years after leaving physical work to a sissy office paper pushing job. Now they're pretty tender.
However while my Jeff_black listed years, I did do lots of yard work. The one thing I missed about living in a house. This condo has no deck with sun for gardening. My back yard was full of airating soil with an old shovel and old pickaxe and dense fixing and trimming of evergreens and willow tree. Not to mention digging up old sod for new. My hands bled for the first year
