I reread this thread and it's fucking retarded. I started talking about John Irving for reasons that even I don't understand. I liked "widow for a year" the best I think, even better than Owen meany and garp. It has layers and layers. Fucking Irving's books have layers and layers but widow for a year is super duper meta. Maybe that's what I was trying to articulate, how the book mentions an author who writes children's books which Irving later wrote and published. Meta AF
