    Most pharmacies use an X on the bottle to note that it has been opened, meaning that unless OP is in that pharmacy for the pic he got a partially-used bottle.

    A check mark "for open" is my experience. an X for eXspired (plus look at the date). perhaps every pharmacy is different. I'm glad you brought that up. It was one of my jobs to check for open bottles so we wouldn't duplicate open for fill.
