lol why the hell did 4chan get overrun with emo faggots in 2007? it was definitely the turning point. you would think people who are massively killing themseves off wouldnt be a long term problem but they were, and then even more retarded normies than them swamped the place.

I didn't know there was totse community, I just remember the text files. I didn't know there was a forums until I saw zoklet and I only posted in one subforum there and kind of ignored the rest, it was really active and busy and I had no idea about any of the culture or anything.
on 4chan you don't use a name or an account and sometimes if you make a picture you will see it years later, it's a weird feeling to not be associated with what you post.

yeah but it was one of the few places on the net where you could talk about anything without worrying about getting cancelled, totse had power tripping mods all the time even if it wasnt as bad as the rest of the web. with freedom comes consequences you must accept such as degeneracy, if you want less degeneracy you have to deal with more censorship which is never an issue until you are the one who gets cancelled and then there is nobody left to stand up for you.
the truly difficult fuckin thing is creating that perfect balance which will never happen with pure anarchy, i understand this now but didnt before.
totse was that much better balance than 4chan, a little bit less freedom but far more quality.
