Poll: Star Trek?

Star Trek?

SEVRIN: This is outrageous. You're not isolating me, you're imprisoning me. You invent a crime, find me guilty and sentence me!

MCCOY: Would you like to run the test, Doctor? You knew you were a carrier before you came aboard, didn't you?

    SEVRIN: No!

MCCOY: Then why did you fight the examination?

SEVRIN: It was an infringement on my rights.

    KIRK: Put him in isolation.

MCCOY: Be ready for the objections, Jim. They are a vocal lot.

TNG. I have an undying love for the unknowable capricious trickster deity archetype, and Q fits very neatly into it (at least for the duration of TNG, Voyager ruins the mystique I hear). For that reason alone, TNG is the best Star Trek. DS9 is cool too though.

You didn't watch Voyager? It's worth it but has very repetitive elements. Better written than TNG with more realistic/interesting characters. I found the exploration of the Q continuum in VOY very interesting but I don't want to spoil it too much. The Q episodes are always some of my favorites.

Making the unknowable trickster deity knowable completely undermines his whole character though. Like the exploration of the Q continuum could be hella interesting in its own right, but making the nigh omnipotent unknowable trickster more knowable defeats the purpose as far as I'm concerned. Just discount Ancients from Stargate at that point.

    Voyager for sure.

Seven of Nine was hot as fuck and that little magical elf girl with a housefly lifespan was pretty cute too.

But some of the extras on TNG were wow. Dat planet with the leotards mmm

I never watched Stargate, it looks gay and nerdy.

Q is never completely knowable. You only get glimpses. What you're stuck on is the initial mystique of 'what the fuck even is this'. AKA Character development.
