Defending U.S.’ restrictions on the export of key raw materials for the manufacture of COVID-19 vaccine that threatens to slow India’s vaccination drive, a senior State Department official has said the Biden administration’s first obligation is to take care of the requirements of the American people.

It's not exactly a new concept. Safety is more important than "freedom" and the only time people disagree is when measures are taken that they think go too far. Not being able to drive drunk legally infringes my freedoms too, but I don't care because the safety issue is a bigger concern.
The US has done a PHENOMENAL job with vaccine distribution. Most first world countries totally flopped but the Biden admin plan was solid and it meant my entire family could get vaccinated. I care more about my family and friends than I do Indians. Some company's right to freedom doesn't supersede my right to safety. -
