Daunte Wright, the 20-year-old Black man shot by a police officer in a Minneapolis suburb Sunday afternoon, had an open warrant for his arrest related to an aggravated armed robbery attempt (of a woman) when he was killed, according to court records.
So what it was a WARRANT he did a crime in the past, send him a summons in the mail or something you don't need to shoot him. So what if floyd passed a fake 20. he was obviously too fucked up to tell it was fake.
The police need to calm down and stop wasting resources during a pandemic time on such petty crimes. Most of these people don't go to jail anyway because of covid and overcrowding.
Society is moving in a different direction. Why spend money on prisons when you can just put an ankle monitor and have a cop check on them? Most people would rather do that and could get a job and not have to be taken away from society.
They can be productive citizens and have corrective punishment without being locked in a taxpayer funded housing project. They should have to pay for their own food instead of the government feeding them.
The idea of arresting someone for a crime and sending them to a prison is so fucking antiquated and ineffective. Is it really the best we can do?

He was shot for trying to escape arrest when it was found he had an open warrant...fighting with the cops IS a crime in progress.
