1 8k monitor or 2 4k monitors?

Im thinking 4k just because it is easier to get my hands on. -
2021-04-05 at 9:30 PM UTCI'd say the two 4k, but 8k is more futureproof I guess. You kinda need 3 monitors if you want to use a multi-monitor setup for a hardcore, real nigga, never-getting-laid-again gaming rig, and you probably won't use the second monitor for anything useful (lord knows I never have)... but it's nice just having the option to use it for whatever. I'd hate going back to a single monitor at this point. It's convenient being able to play a game on one monitor and glance over at a second monitor to see what chapter my audiobook is on or to half assedly watch a youtube video.

2021-04-05 at 11:08 PM UTCI'm pretty happy with 1920×1080 for now.

The second monitor is incredibly useful for work. I usually keep one for research/photo editing/youtube (better resolution on monitor 1) and another for whatever 'main' stuff I'm actually working on.
Three is a bit retarded. Idk what you'd do with three screens. That's neck moving horizontalism and I don't approve of anything physical in front of the computer -
2021-04-06 at 5:56 PM UTC4k now, 8k in a year.

2021-04-06 at 8:54 PM UTCTwo 4k. IIRC once you start brushing up to 8k and above you're over the resolution of the human eye. So what's the point. For some reason framerate seems really important to how we perceive things. IDK, what do i know about optics and shit.

Incorrect
"While human eyes are not rated in pixels an approximation of what we can see is 40 megapixels where 8K is 33 megapixels. " -

Do you suppose there are more people with fucked up vision that think they have 20/20 vision and thus are not wearing glasses, monocles, get LASIK whatever. IDK, when i was but a wee lad the doctor always tested my eyes when i went for a check up.
Lol i have a friend who later in life, like early 20's found out he didn't have 20/20 vision and he should actually be wearing glasses when he drives yet he never does, haha, fuck it, when we go somewhere and he's driving i won't even put my seatbelt on. I never do. Because fuck that. -

3 is purely for gayming. As humans are a predatory species which evolved forward facing eyes to better track our prey, and many of the popular games of our era revolve around stimulating our primal predatory urges, it's very common for important things to be happening in the center of our screen/directly in front of us. Splitting a game across only 2 screens makes the center of the game's field-of-view get split across the bezels of both monitors. Not conducive to good hunting. Make caveman brain sad. 3 monitors means you can see straight forward and your peripheral vision is split across the other two monitors. Make caveman brain happy to see prey directly in front of you. -

Thanks I support physical movement now -

Not sure how you assign a digital resolution to human sight, but even if you assume the human eye is a 40 MP camera (which is dumb since human visual acuity is wildly different across the visual field, e.g. very low in the periphery) it’s obvious that how much digital resolution is perceptible depends on the distance from your eye to the screen. A monitor doesn’t occupy your full visual field (and you wouldn’t want it to).
Re: op, I’d definitely go with the pair of 4ks, you already have to shell out a good chunk of change for a rig that’s going to run games at 4K smoothly, not even sure much supports 8k at this point. And having a second monitor is nice. I didn’t bother with one for my gaming computer but my work/hobby work is a pair of 4ks and a loud display and I’m thinking of adding a third because I hate having to shuffle windows around with a passion. -

2021-04-14 at 8:37 AM UTC140fps porno would probably be pretty neat, dunno if anyone shoots at that framerate though
-
2021-04-14 at 8:40 AM UTCno I just did a search for 'fps' on a torrent site and it looks like they max out at like 60
except vr stuff apparently -

The resolution doesn't change regardless of your field of view...two entirely different things.
