   Anime is great storytelling medium. All there is to it. ≥95% of the shows that come out each season/cour are garbage. In a good season there are 1 or 2 shows which are absolutely worth watching (for whatever reason - great setting, great story, great characters, great fight choreography, great animation).
   
   Are you necessarily getting anything of value out of it? Nah. Not every live-action western TV show is The Wire or The Sopranos or whatever either. Doesn't mean the rest of TV is garbage, and you'd certainly be stupid to write off TV as a whole when those few truly great shows exist. Don't be dumb. Anime is fine. 🤷

Super worth it, stick through the first couple of arcs to really understand the emotional core of the show.
    
    And you will need to watch the official anime where OnePace.net episodes aren't available, but the anime did a decent job on those ones.
    
    No joke, if you can stick through a couple arcs, you will be hooked and it's legit a contender for "one of the greatest stories ever told". It's still ongoing too, so if you catch up, just take a year break and catch up again.

    I don't like shows where it's complicated to watch or I have to watch pre/side stories to understand and appreciate it. I think that's just poor design.

    But this (OnePace project) is the superior way, as it edits out a lot of stuff that is extraneous stuff, it is mostly to improve the pacing of the show to match the source material.
    
    Just torrent the chapters in order from the site if you want, or you can watch it like normal from an anime site.
