what your not aware is that this time the US will be engaged in a very long, costly and protracted war in the middle east.

They remind me of a scrawny loud mouth kid who talks a lot of shit because he has a tough big brother to come clean up his messes. Israel would be a lot more docile and quiet if they didn't have the US to run to everytime shit is tense.
"We will stand on our own and do this with or without help" yeah bullshit, the second an Iranian tosses a rock at one of their buildings they will come running and screaming for our help. -

They were bombing the coastal regions of San Francisco and LA as well. the comedy Film 1941 by Robert Zemeckis is actually based on facts of LA during that full out Night Air Raid of shooting up into the sky and the Japanese subs bombing the beaches around Santa Monika.
The Avenues of San Francisco weren´t formed until just after WWII and mostly was small beach homes and Golden Gate park was surrounded by mainly sand dunes back in those days. so not a lot of people heard it but some accounts came in and it was later verified that Japanese had tried to knock out a pier while multiple accounts came in around LA.
the balloons were interesting. they said they carried bio-weapons but never harmed anyone. -

I read that when this happened it was a last ditch efford just before Hirohito signed the peace accord and surrendering to USA. he wasnt on the same page as the Military leaders who threaten to remove him from power. this is why he was allowed to continue to rule Japan under American Occupation. but many of the Military continued to fight Americans in places like iwo jima and other islands until 1947. they fought to their deaths and didn't believe the surrender was true. -
