I don't need to imagine this; I work with people from all over Eastern Europe. Some of them come here to immigrate, some just to earn USD and send back home and then go back themselves, and some are here to escape the authorities back home.
I know a guy who was in prison in Kaliningrad his whole life from the time that he was a teen. As soon as he got out he obviously started doing more crime, and the cops were looking for him. His friends arranged for him to go work on a fishing boat in Northern Europe. He was talking about how Norwegians were working very slowly while smoking cigarettes, all while making a ton of money, meanwhile the Russians were working their ass off and getting paid shit. But it was worth it as long as the guy was out of the country and escaping the cops back at home.
Anyway they were scaling fishes on a conveyor belt, and the Russians were made to do it at a much faster pace. Once the Russians let slip an unprocessed fish, and the Norwegian guy threw the fish at the Russian. The second time this happened, the Norwegian again threw the fish, and the Russian walked up to him and slapped him in the face with the same fish. The entire Russian section of the crew ended up quitting over this, and now work here in the u.s.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
