There is honestly nothing more shameful than being an entry level low wage service industry loser as an adult with no excuse. That really has to suck and I don't understand it -

I knew this lady at one of my first jobs who was in her 70s still cashiering at the same company for decades. She was super duper nice and sweet and dressed up like a witch for Halloween with the cackles and everything. So I can't hate her but like, you had a whole ass life to try and do something.
I guess some people are happy doing that. Idk. Kind of reminds me of the slaves who just kinda thought it was their place in life and that's the way things were and would always be. -

Oh man. I had a thought I didn't like the other day.
Sometimes I think about how there is no "vice animal" on Earth, like a #2 species that is between us and dolphins/chimps or something in terms of intellect and self awareness.
If they existed a couple centuries ago, we would probably integrate them into society like cows and dogs, as slightly more complex work animals, like a highly trained performing monkey. They would be useful as pack mules for example.
And if you can make them adept at some particular sets of low skill tasks, such as moving a file from one cabinet position to another, you could organize them into complex distributed systems of productivity with each animals handling a particular simple task. Get the formula right and you wouldn't need a human involved at all. Just like lots of different dumb logic gates can do math if you set then up just right, and if you do it just right, they can defeat Garry Kasparov at chess.
And if you find the super special formula you might achieve the final dream of AI research, that a human can simply will something and some intelligent and reliable system brings it into reality.
Then it hit me that they do exist and so do those structures, and we already use that formula... in fact that structure is simply the logical ultimate evolution of the concept of division of labour: human logic gates.
People like this are literally those #2 animals, they are genuinely a lower level of human. But they are the logic gates of the modern economy: dumb fucktards doing simple shit chores, organised neatly into business structures, keeping the world spinning for the actual humans to simply will something and get it, and focus on their actual work. You know shit that requires thought.
So now instead of cooking every day, I can simply tap my phone and food appears at my door.
What it required on the backend was just enough technical and organisational competence to connect to an appropriate dumb node who gets told to flip me a chicken sandwich, then another one that gets contacted to bring it to my door. This is the realization of our dreams of will-to-power in the pre-AI age. Once they can break it down a few more steps and make automation hardware easier to iterate on in mass production, those people will have no reason to exist.
And guess what, our ass will be paying taxes to support them on UBI because if we didn't, they would go full planet of the apes. -

This post will inspire a science fiction book.
This is why meritocracy is so important, it's the only way of differentiating between the different types of people.
I read a lot of court decisions and a lot of the time judges will spell out systematic disadvantages that aren't apparent to the person they are sentencing. Not that this is apparently a bad thing but if you're not aware of your situation and trajectory and social mileu it's just luck if you're not selling crack in a school zone and stealing copper.
Weaker people deserve benevolence when they are aware of their place. Without the tools to understand they're just roaming around like clueless idiots and making things worse for everybody. Telling someone to "know their place" is a forceful imposition but when they come about it naturally it can be a beautiful thing. -
2021-03-02 at 9:14 PM UTCIn the end, the "winners" will be the joyous unemployed, basic income losers who get to do nothing and enjoy the fruits of the intellectual labour of those with the ability for complex thought. Theirs will be the utopia to inherit, and ours to build. But perhaps that is a happy synthesis for the human condition: for work to be whatever makes us happy, and for everything else to be taken care of.

No the real winners are the ones who profit off the labor of the weaker and delegate their own responsibilities out as well. I kinda do that and I feel like a winner sometimes. People living on a basic income typically live stagnant lives and don't accumulate and grow. People who even work shitty working class jobs definitely seem happier and more fulfilled to me plus they have ugly families and accumulate shitty corrollas -

Tbh 99% of people who think they will end up on top in the grand scheme of things are probably wrong. We will both probably be Bezos's nigger one day. But maybe if I can get a PhD in physics and an MSc in aerospace engineering, I'll be a martian nigger. -

the only reason you went back to school is because you cant function irl.
real life is hard and workplaces are mean. your safe space is in school where you get to get treated like a child again long after you stopped growing. -
