anywhere people would not expect pickpockets to be on the prowl. you'd want to be really good though, like gypsy-grade pickpocket before trying it though

The best pickpocket I ever met was a 9 year old kid who chainsmoked. We would be at the Canfield fair, bitching about having no money, and this kid would leave and come back 10 minutes later with someone's wallet.

Just think of places where people have to remove their accessories and valuables. Hair salons, gyms/recreational centers, swimming pools, tanning beds, Or places where people's attention is focused on other things, like restaurants or church services. I am not a pickpocket, but in my heyday I was an opportunist, and I was not above rifling through coats in coatrooms, and I have found money that way before. 'Coat beds' at parties, coat racks at churches or other places, college campuses, there are lots of places where people feel comfortable enough to let their guard down. Where I used to live, there was a huge mall, and early mornings before the stores opened, they would let old people 'mallwalk' through the closed mall. They would leave their coats all over the place, and I would just fucking look for the leather coats or expensive brand name ones and take the whole fucking coat. I would get an armload of them and sell the coats for consignment. I had some other thoughs on this, but I am somewhat distracted and typing this on a laptop I hardly ever use, and the keyboard is driving me nuts. I may come back and add more later when I have a quiet moment to think.
