   Race is not a biological or genetic concept and is constructed socially. It is a pre-scientific abstraction that serves as a weak proxy for the concept of genetic diversity.
   
   It is largely based on categorization by the basis of skin colour, which is a biological and hereditary factor, but is definitely not the determinative trait as solely by this measure, Jews are white.
   
   Instead race is a pre scientific concept that is purely socially constructed and has no basis in scientific reasoning.
   
   Social concepts can be real and useful, such as the concept of money. However this particular social construct, race, is now outmoded and holds no natural scientific value compared to modern genetics.
