Triangle by Square Enix

a new tactical role playing game. This is my favorite genre of game like Disgea, Fire Emblem or final fantasy tactics. There is a free demo on switch right now and Square Enix is looking for feedback on the game as this is a new IP and they want to make it good because this genre isn't very popular but has a cult community.

So if you have a switch and like tactical games you should check this out

It's supposed to be like over the top anime style and it's a huge grind fest, like most games your max level is 100. In Disgaea your max level is 9999 and damage and HP goes into the millions.

and there's these penguins that explode when you throw them and they say "DOOD" it's one of my favorite series of all time.

FFTA was the shit. I feel like fire emblem is the only franchise that's been keeping the genre alive the last couple years but it'd be awesome to see square re-enter the space. FE is great but its handful of tropes and it'd be fun to see someone else's take in the current era. E.g. FFTA's rotating laws were interesting, the actual execution was bad because it ended up turning into a game of just burning time until a favorable law set came into play except in very rare situations, but if you were lazy and just played with the given law set on any given day it ended up being pretty interesting figuring out encounters without some subset of what your units could do.
