if minimum wage increases businesses will just increase prices or cut costs elsewhere because there's nothing stopping them - wages go up but buying power continues to go down

You know what causes job growth? Higher demand for goods and services. You know what causes higher demand for goods and services? More people with money to buy goods and services. You know what causes more people with money to buy more goods and services? Higher wages.
BUT MCDONALD'S WOULD CHARGE $30 for a Big Mac! No they wouldn't because more people would be buying Big Macs.

Yep. It's basic economics. There are dozens of existing examples showing why this is a good idea. Republicans have literally made the same argument for 70 years and it has never been true. If they had it their way it would still be like 3/h.
15/h is fucking nothing. It should be over 20/h. Anyone who thinks businesses can't handle that has never run one.
You really think a CEO deserves to make more than a dude busting his ass?
People deserve more of the income they generate. That's the bottom line. Capitalism isn't humane and that's why we make laws to combat it.

I've never really understood why so many people are outraged at the concept of raising the minimum wage, or rather, they seem to be mad at the workers that would benefit.
Why be mad at the people that can actually earn a living wage for working full-time, regardless of their job? Why does it have to be so bothersome that a fast food worker can make 15 dollars an hour?
What should be upsetting is that the skilled jobs arent making at least 25+ an hour, perhaps. That should be the case too. Everyone should make more except idk maybe the millionaires and billionaires that are keeping the difference and ensuring the bottom feeders, skilled labor or otherwise, arent gonna make much more because the rich are just that fucking greedy.
Nobody should hate the idea that any job in the country pays 15 dollars an hour. If you think that's the easy life, then quit your job and go do the easy 15 an hour life. EZ.

And people think its bing bang let's raise the minimum wage 8 dollars overnight. I think half the people I've ever talked to about it dont realize that it's done over a period of multiple years, for the very reason of allowing businesses to adjust, because yes of course it's going to impact employers, small or large business or otherwise.
There are plenty of states and businesses that have already adopted the 15 an hour min wage and things seem to be going well for them so it's not like it isnt feasible.
I mean when would an anti-min wage raiser ever decide it's right to increase it? What is the line? Never ever increase it, ever? What are the determining factors for a person to say, ok, I think it's time to increase the minimum wage to keep it fair for even the most "low-tier" workers to still make a living on.

It's not been raised since 2009, the cost of living has raised significantly in that period of time. The only thing I have against the $15/hour is what it does to those people who have worked hard over the years to bring their wage up by working hard and having a good work ethic and they are just now at or around $15/hour, it's extremely unfair them if inturn their wages don't increase
There are numerous states that have upped their minimum wage significantly and multiple businesses that have as well and people aren't paying $20 FOR A GALLON OF MILK gtfo with any of that.
And the idea that "I had to work my ass off to earn raises to get to $15/hr so it's unfair that 19 year old Johnny will make $15/hr working at McDonald's" is exactly what is wrong with the world. People scared to death that someone else is going to come up even slightly. Humans are pathetic.

Economics is a particularly dishonest science as people have political opinions that changes their judgement and financial reasons to lie. The humanities in general are rife with out-and-out liars, people making up and telling deliberate lies to advance various agendas.
