A president can't just make the choice of firing off missiles. He needs permission from others first. Joint Chief of Staff and shit like that. He couldn't of just said "fuck it, I'm going to open my "football" briefcase and crack codes"

Shit. then you have to ask yourself. do I go to the nearest below ground bunker.
We in California have few options. Because unless you have a sub-level garage in your building, most homes don't have basements. They have risers they call basements. but no actual cellar dweller.
so .. Basically the tunnels under San Francisco (if you can find them- they're not known to everyone) or maybe some old mine shafts. Which there are lots in the bay area.
outside that, steal a boat. and take off towards the ocean as fast as possible. You have like 25 minutes.. tops.
