If I try and find a friendly (since the circle of friendship is a very narrow band) the seond circle outside the narrow band is not the way to look at it. at least not as someone mid 50s. which is considered an Elder in many nations.
as an Elder I have re-positioned my friendlies (which comes after or 2nd to Friends-family-love ones I would die for) Again I would re-position them into the inner original inner circle instead of outside it. The Reason is you become a better person if you look at your core, recreate it as if you were renovating a beautiful old building. and you don't have the friendly people outside the new renovation but rather you bring them in and give them respect and hospitality. and then the thrid ring of "I can probably trust. as long as I keep it basic. the simpler things that wouldn't cause a problem emotionally if they fell apart but that you can get things done here and there. That's like the neighborhood you live in. Not the next door neighbors but people here and there You like but don't know well enough.
And then the former outer ring becomes of the last. that ring or area you don't want to go into . Like it's toxic to you. an old refinery with tainted toxic soil and train tracks not used anymore and bent. That area you try and get away from should be moved closer to your core. keep your friends close but your deceivers (enemies) even closer" yes the old mob motto is scary and emotionally painful but keep the closest eye on it, while trying to put a vail over it. like a hotel with a courtyard, and you stare behind the curtain and some seedy restless souls having a hedonistic pool party out in the open. No matter how tempting you don't want to get into that pool so close to you around those people.
