How can two gay people be 'married'?
-
2021-01-25 at 8:52 PM UTCI mean sure they can imitate a marriage ceremony. That bit's easy.
But I don't understand. A groom and a groom? A bride and bride? Makes as much sense as marrying a cat and a dog.
Anyway I for one welcome our progressive overlords pushing animal marriage in the coming decades. I will be a proud bestiaphobe until the end. -
2021-01-25 at 9:01 PM UTCI'm not sure what part of it you're struggling with. They arguably can't be married in the eyes of God, but marriage is a legal institution as much a religious one. It's kind of fulfilling the same role as adoption. In the old sense, where a man might adopt a man his age to bring him into the family. Only it's a man marrying a man and starting a new branch of the family (which may or may not be a dead end depending on adoption).

I don't know how to break this to you, but only heterosexual sex can produce children. A man cannot impregnate another man, no matter how much he might enjoy trying.

I don't know how to break this to you, but marriage between a sterile man and a fertile woman (or vice versa) is still marriage, so the fact that it's a genetic dead end is only so important. -

If a marriage between a man and a woman fails to produce children, due to fertility issues or for whatever reason, does it make the marriage an illegitimate one? -

Yes. Even the catholic church said that was a valid reason for it to be anulled, and refused to marry the impotent or barren. -
2021-01-25 at 10:49 PM UTCI want to get married to a toyota hilux technical with a dshk machinegun + rocket launcher mounted on it. If I ever end up in the hospital, it needs to be allowed to visit. Same with conjugal visits in prison. All hospitals and prisons need to have rooms that can accommodate this! OH, and the bathrooms need to be able to accommodate an oil drain/refill, complete with air filtŠµr dispensers! OR ELSE YOURE RACIST

Well the Catholic Church is a self-serving institute churning out more children they can molest.
Philosophically speaking and outside of a religious context, same question. -

As I understand it, this is false. Impotence (inability to consummate) meant the marriage was invalid, but an inability to conceive after the marriage had been consummated was not. -

2021-01-25 at 11:49 PM UTCHow can someone who wasn't loved as a child have good mental health?
I mean, they might think they can imitate a healthy mind, hide behind a smiling face.
But behind that mask they still view their world as a threatening and lonely place. Right?
