I used to love my old piece of shit ThinkPad T43 so much till the charger died and I used to put varying flavours of Puppy, Lubuntu etc on it to breathe new life into it. It became surprisingly usable, but you could tell the slow as shit old USB bus and other archaic hardware was making it take an extra several seconds to do stuff that involved drawing any UI graphics etc, rescaling windows was slow and so on.

However all I needed it for was a text editor: get myself into Latex and start typing on that dreamy ass clicky keyboard, zooming around with the trackpoint clit mouse like it's the 90s.

Man I actually really enjoyed tinkering with light Linux distro a on that thing, and just typing as fuck on that keyboard.
