this idiot has spent hundreds on water and other thermal cooling systems each new build.

Building boxes is fun for sure. I am looking to get some hardware to set up a comprehensive VM-Lab. Been working with some hardware i had lying around on a 'mini datacenter' for a while now. To host multiple hidden services. Among which a secure collaborative development platform. Hidden service pastebin equivalent and a private and secure Cloud C2 solution. ETA should be the end of the week or next week, if all goes well. Different resources will go live in a A, B, C progression as i work out any bugs and make sure my security measures are more than adequate.

I suck at it but its fun.

Hours researching each generation of cooling options (its an add thing)

    Pretend to be clever.

I look out the window today and realize I just need to stick the whole fucking pc outside.

I live so far north its freezing to chilly 24/7/365 and always dry.

    -13C today :)

    only risk are the bears

    I am such an idiot.

what did you last edited out?

umm overclocking. isn't that like mid-late 1990s processors people did this to? overclocking today is redundant

so if it's cold why do you need to overclock. doesn't your system run better in a colder environment? if too cold, use the water cooler and a water-heating base system. warm up the water tubes. same basic concept

thermal transfer is all about heat differential

I don't even need a fan with that sort of ambient temp.

Overclocking is fun. Its a hobby.
    Some knit.

    That is never redundant.

and lets me run VR at 90fps with an old…

    I give up

    jeez

Don't let the idiots that turn up in T&T from time to time deter you from talking about tech subjects you have an interest in. Or deter you from inquiring about anything you'd like to learn more about. Most sub forums aren't moderated much, but disruption in T&T grinds my gears, and Lanny is very accommodating if you shoot him a PM to ask him to remove some of the BS from any interesting thread that's going on in here.

Not sure if you have a report button yet, but i encourage it's use especially in here.

No need to spend a bunch of time and $$ on liquid cooling shit when you can just chuck the thing in a tank of mineral oil...and it's cooler both style AND temperature wise.
