2021-01-05 at 9:34 PM UTCthis isn't much of a revolution in Design. Even India has a new Z Class

2021-01-05 at 9:46 PM UTCsurface fleets are over.
with the proliferation of long range hypersonic missiles, they've become far too much of a risk (in terms of cost-benefit) to be used in actual warfare, at least in the way they traditionally were. -
2021-01-06 at 1:24 AM UTCI overhead plans by the admirals in the event of war we are planning on turning our surface fleet into an underwater fleet and it will happen overnight stop underestimateing us we have the best people leading our military

First you say surface fleets are over, then in your last sentence you say they are going to be used differently.
So... they're not over? Would that maybe be a more accurate statement? -

don't be a shit
surface fleets as they currently exist are no longer effective. primarily they're used to project power over long distances; aircraft carriers are used as mobile centres for air superiority, missile frigates act as extra-long range artillery and the rest of the group protects and supplies them.
against peer militaries they've been a risky cost for decades considering there are effective counter-weapons that are available at a fraction of the cost - even Iranians, under the most brutal sanctions and embargoes in the world, have been able to fly small drones close enough to land on the deck. With the advent of hypersonic missiles and development of drone warfare that doesn't require high-tech command lines, even third-world countries can buy a few hypersonic ASBMs and semi-reliably kill a carrier for like 1/100th of the price.
the last part was considering that there may still be a use for surface craft in a different role - perhaps purely supportive; acting as naval supply lines while keeping out of range of threats, but even that becomes an unreliable option as new deployment vectors emerge and it'd require a complete restructuring of naval doctrine. -

I think the current trend toward smaller, faster ships is the only way to go but keeping them supplied as a blue-water force is going to be a major problem. they're effective enough as a defensive force as most countries are currently using them but any sort of long distance supply hub is going to be vulnerable to the same problems as expensive strike fleets -

also waterborne drones (surface and subsurface) and their mother-ships.
any ship larger than about 100 feet is going to be obsolete while small ships are going to be the future.
also 'arsenal' ships.
Dont you still need the large Z class battle ships to carry the new Electric Rail Guns? like 100 of them Cannon size being loaded in seconds by an automatic loader with no explosive ordinance on board. making it much safer without the chance of a Port Costa Explosion era 1944 just weeks in around the time Hitler was captured.
It was like what happened in Lebanon recently. 360 people died.

At least we're not getting cucked by Russia & China.

what is the purpose of electric railguns? they're effectively extra-long range artillery that can attack beyond line-of-sight and do nothing to counter these new types of weapons.
in terms of effectiveness the ships need TWO nuclear reactors to move and charge guns at the same time, and they need to carry enough rails to change every 10-15 shots (the forces on them when fired do massive damage to structure and conductivity) meaning they need to carry nearly as many munitions as a regular battleship -
2021-01-06 at 2:58 AM UTCThe only weapons that will matter in World War 3 are particle beam weapons from space and hypersonic intercontinental ballistic missiles.

but those munitions don't explode like Port Chicago did
wait for it. a minute in. TV film

2021-01-06 at 3:38 AM UTCAlso, Aldra, those rail guns are very accurate. it isn't just a dumb rail gun shooting 100 miles at 5600mhh. they state the computers onboard are very accurate and will strike anything before it knew what hit it with in 100 miles from the ship. its more an anti air defense devise but I'm sure it could hit munition sheds or strike Chinese chips that still use older standard style munitions taking out the fucking entire ship and most likely sinking it or making it a sitting duck for another strike.
Its a massive Game Changer. the US has only 1/5th the ground force as China does. they have a massive Army of men and women. but the US is basicly going to launch drones from ships and islands just hitting targets all day long while some Guy in the Navy or Airforce is sitting inside some Tuff-Shed of Sardonia and cracking Jokes with his mates, eating hostess cupcakes and have the sensation he's playing video games all day long.
Stay the course. You better hope Biden wins so he'll buddy up with the Chinese. probably share this technology. which would be Treasonous but if Trump did suddenly take control Jan 20th, China will stay the course and continue to build.
honestly no one knows where this is going outside of an eventual war for global control over its entire resources -
2021-01-06 at 3:52 AM UTCno, the railguns aren't an anti-air weapon; they're not designed for that.
true it won't have explosive munitions that can detonate but it will have two nuclear reactors on board. -
2021-01-06 at 3:59 AM UTCthey're fucking huge and their mounts aren't designed to move fast, only precisely. it's like firing howitzers at birds
I guess if you could predict the path of the missile you could trigger the railgun when the projectile crossed the barrel but modern missiles make that turbo difficult and you only have one shot.
the future of anti-missile defence is probably laser or the good old wall-of-CIWS defence but neither is anywhere near reliable at the moment. -
2021-01-06 at 4:28 AM UTCamerica is the UK's bitch by proxy since it was lords rothschild and balfour that both created israel and the american CIA, as with RADAR tech, the british were ahead technologically when no one expected them to be, they became(british kike bankers / intel community) the world's best mind control and manipulation experts. when you can mind control foreign countries (not really foreign, the revolutionary war was faked and the US is still britain's bitch.) then you don't need to fight conventional wars or have military bases all over your country.
EDIT; despite the british nanny government, british people, like most europeans, enjoy a higher quality of life than your average american, cleaner air, more intelligent people, organic food that isn't full of kike owned monsanto's genetically ,modified franken foods.
america is a slave colony -

I'm sure those reactors are well housed to keep from causing a chain reaction. there clearly will be radioactive contamination if the ship got taken out. the entire board would die, I see what you're saying. but those in the other ship my be contaminated as well. if that was to occur.
Back to the "Not used for anti-air. that is exactly what this ships Captain stated it was used for. it's pin point accuracy with the onboard tracking system. it's more for taking out incoming missiles directed at the ship, or fighter jets from the enemy side. this thing could probably take out a low orbital satellite eventually if the rail guns advance.
Space is 80 miles up. it has potential. not now, but it can in the future if that thing can fire at over 17k miles an hour.
