2020-12-24 at 3:53 PM UTCLmao that's a pretty good goof. I like these types of promotional campaigns, it's creative and captures the public attention.
They basically just made a heating chamber for food and taped it atop a compact prebuilt PC, it probably took maybe a week to draft up and if they're planning on selling a limited run for shits and giggles then maybe a month to cobble together a limited production run. It was probably ultra cheap advertising relative to the attention they are getting. -

The pc parts are what heats up the food
Tbh this sounds incredibly gimmicmy and having a kitchen supply as my pc sounds really retarded and redneck ..
BUT
On the other hand KFC is a huge company and can probably subsidize the price so you,can get a gaming master rig for less than normal. -
2020-12-24 at 4:02 PM UTCThis is late stage capitalism folks
We are finally living in a dystopic cyberpunk film -

They might have connected a heatsink to it or something but I doubt it gets consistently hot enough that they don't also have a small heating element in there to help maintain a stable temperature, PC temps vary too much depending on load. Otherwise they'd have to artificially waste power to raise temps via the CPU and GPU, and that would mess with performance etc.
If it's cheap that would be cool but I'm expecting it to actually be more expensive than an equivalent PC, as a collector's item. -
