With prosthetics and mechanical body parts becoming more and more sophisticated, I feel elective augmentation is on the horizon. I personally am a huge supporter of this. The questions remain though: how far would you go? Would you take that leap? Where do you draw a line. When do you become something more than human? Is that possible?
Scarier (if this sort of thing frightens you) still, what is AIs place in this? Could tou love an AI? Would you fuck a machine waifu?
All these questions and more longer.
Discuss?

Only if it's an early access version.

I maintain the grid will get blown out and we'll all laugh at the techies who lack real life skills.
No, though. I wouldn't hack off limbs for new and improved mechanical ones.

Chipping old people? Mark of the beast? What do you mean?

Mark of the beast as in the demonic thing at the end of the Bible branding its followers. Chipping old people as an off the cuff remark about how it could be more sophisticated than tattoos/brands.

Just being old and having a chip jammed in you hardly qualifies as the mark of the beast. They're just old, and a chip isn't a brand

I didn't imply old people were getting the mark of the beast lol. I just meant (albeit a tad sarcastically) that when the beast does come, I wouldn't be all that shocked if some sort of electronic device was used in lieu of traditional methods.

Just your brain though? Why not your whole body? Imagine the possibilities! Why stop there? What is keeping you from that next step?
