This trolling is Hiki's cope. He's experiencing pained, trauma induced nostalgia for a time when he was younger and happier. He doesn't actually believe that DVD is in any way better than 4K Blu-ray, or ya know, streaming in 4K via Netflix or over a network, but these artifacts from his teens soothe his mind.
But if he just says it is on here and gets a few contrary replies, he can tell himself he was the only person on here that really, truly experienced the mid-2000's and the rest of us were on autopilot having a lesser experience.
If Hiki really is a 29/30 year old man, with little to no work or relationship experience, who lives with his mother, it's possible his life has made him mentally ill. His concerns and ambitions he mentions are very childlike and his comments on society and politics never convey basic insight. Then there's the fact that he can never seem to actually hold a normal conversation for very long without talking about himself or changing the topic rapidly.

DVDs are objectively better than 4K DVDs.
They are cheap, effective and warm.
The absurd resolution of 4K blu-rays invokes a soulless and sterile feeling.
As for streaming, absolute garbage ... For one you don't own the media and it's dependent on an internet connection and always subject to removal for any myriad of reasons.
Digital files are garbage too.
A true media connoisseur desires and respects the tangibility of physical media.
