hush up. I tried again and I tapped the inside with the gas off and that did the trick.. a little bit. it still does it but now as loud. I might take that inner panel off again with the unit unplugged and vacuum it out
We might have someone come in and vacuum the vent duct out. pricey but will keep us from getting headaches and weazy.
So to be fair I don't know anything about heaters but I do remember watching a Forensic Files episode where a guy killed his girlfriend and her kids by tampering with that heat exchanger thing and causing them all to die of carbon monoxide.
What you have there is called "delayed ignition". Your left burner lights but your right burner doesn't immediately light and then comes on with a "bang". Very scary. Possibly very dangerous, especially as dusty as things seem. Can wake you up. Needs immediate attention.
DO NOT EVER BANG ON FURNACE COMPONENTS...EVER ! ! !
At one point in the video you are banging on the blower motor run capacitor with your wrench. This can dent the casing possibly causing a dent that could cause a short that could take out your blower motor resulting in a repair that would cost hundreds of dollars to repair still leaving your original problem to pay for.
The problem is the alignment (and/or dirt/dust) on the "flame runners", the T-bars that connect the burners and transfer the flame from burner to burner. The solution is to remove and clean the burners as well as checking to make sure the flame runners are realigned when reassembled.
From your level of expertise and mechanical aptitude I am hesitant to comment further other than to tell you to get a trained professional in to do a "clean and check" for a set price (probably $69-$99 or so) rather than call it in as a problem as you will probably get charged more that way for having to do a repair.
This is a very dangerous situation. DO IT TODAY ! ! !
