2020-11-24 at 9:22 PM UTCFor $10k or more you'd figure it would have a full size keyboard.

It's an 88 isn't it? 88 keys.
they have an octave up and down mode. this thing is seriously overpriced. you can get one for 1500 or less.
I purchased a little mini board that has some trippy preset sound patches in it. there is modifier sequencing with attack mode, vibrato and delay and all of that shit. -

does it have a built in midi recorder device. otherwise you'll need an Alesis or roland midi recorder added on to it. they have a Roland one with a 40 inch monitor and jog wheel and a bank for all of your sound patches you create. it has something like a cakewalk type software editor as well. -
2020-11-25 at 2:13 AM UTCMr Hiki, regardless if you know how to play piano or not. The first thing you will want to do is understand how each wave network works.
You have like 5 or 6 types
1: SINE
2: Pulse
3: Box
4: Sawtooth
5: Cycle
each one works differently. most work with sustain but I think sawtooth is a quick attack type and you will need a f'ilter addon to have sustain or reverb to it.
it would be less frustrating if you understand the way each one works. of course SINE is a sound that will come in and out. you time it with attack to sync up with other sounds box works best with the modifier change outs.
I havn't played my rolands in a long time to remember which works how but you should try and understand each wave format. -

I've been using audiomulch since 2008 and have some korg instruments.
I already know about that shit. -

Alright. right on.
I will say you're right about maybe using a laptop patch works system of sound patches and use a control board but its always nice to have an old school analog emulator mixed in. I would create sort of a better string sound by mixing a horn instrument like a french horn with a warm pad and maybe a single violin to create a quad string of instruments. it has a fool orchestra sound of strings with my analog Roland Juno bank of preset-sounds.
you find anything interesting you can always share it with others. Join a collective group.
I live about 7 blocks up the hill from Gilman 924 in Berkeley. lots of bands from the 80s and 90s came out of there. Green Day, The Offsprings, Rancid and Jello from The Dead Kennedys apparently did a concert there and got jumped by some White Supremist for singing Nazi Punks Fuckoff.. or some shit. I'v heard various stories but he had to go to emergency from his injuries. they waffle stomped him pretty bad.
There is also a Jazz and Rock and Soul collective called Ashkenaz just 3 blocks away -
