They suck now, but they are still very popular. The tickets my neighbor bought for wavves and blink182 were over a 100 dollars each and some would argue those bands now suck / have always sucked.
At the circuit of americas, a shot of whiskey/vodka put in tonic water cost 20 dollars... i love alcohol but its not rad enough for me to personally want to pay for that.
Here in austin we are having sxsw and tickets for the event reach close to 1k.
I saw slayer/death angel/ anthrax back in october and my ticket cost me 80 dollars.
I'm going to guess you don't/ havents seen a lot of shows

That explains it. That place was built just to suck money out of a fund that Texas has for "promoting Texas on an international stage"
They expected to get 25 million a year from the fund for the f1 event every year but the state dropped it to $19 million a year and apparently the track is now in financial trouble because of it

I haven't seen too many but I always buy tickets six months in advance so I've never paid more than 60 for tickets, even huge bands like Metallica
lindsay zywickle kinda puts it out there in this video how people believe paying for the most expensive item for the sake of it being expensive is how american pigs are sold things for exorbitant cost.
When I saw slipknot I just took free acid and free coke and had one beer I paid for, and it was much better than spending a 100 dollars on drinks.
I went to the bar and asked to buy 2 bottles of water and they wanted 20 dollars for 2 bottles of water, when in fact they should have set up tanks of water so people can just get it themselves for free. I whined and bitched and they gave me free bottled water, but when we were walking out of the show they were handing out free rockstar energy drinks lol
The show is in Brooklyn (I didn't know roshamploo was in Brooklyn) and the lowest prices available are like $60. Looks like the average price is around $100 for semi-decent seats (though it's kind of all the same if you're not on the floor).

this. for 60 dollars you would be a mile away sitting on grass, which can still be cool, usually people that do that are going in a big group and they want to just casually talk to each other. and not bumping in to sweaty fat drunk people. But If I go to a show that big I kinda want to be right up at the front..
I usually go to shows downtown at clubs so no matter what everyone pays the same and you can walk where ever you want to and you dont have the security/metal detectors/ overpriced drinks.. ect..
roshambo is from new jersey. or at least thats what hes said before.
