You people are retarded. the mask isn't for you but in case you cough it reduces the spray from 6-8 feet to that of about 2-3 feet. and thats if you're sneezing and someone is in front of you. if they're behind you, they're fucked. because it helps project sneeze or cough out as much as 10 feet.
so don't stand behind someone sneezing or coughing.
Also, Fona. You only have to wear the mask when near people. You're expected to take it off and breath the air full of pollen and virus to keep your immune healthy. regardless if the pollen makes you sneeze.
The flood of first generation chinese moving into this neighborhood (like 2/3rds of the area) have always worn masks. I asked someone why and they said they're used to wearing them in China because of pollution. so they always wear them. and they wear sun protective year round like big hats. not Chinese traditional ones but like gardening hats and long loose clothing. You can tell a Chinese person from 5-6th generation Chinese. they have short proper hair and wear lose clothes and masks. like always. they look pale and sickly
