I think a lot of people essentially get pressured into it - I've read a fair few accounts and it seems like one of the biggest drivers for people to 'transition' is the difficulty of puberty. It's difficult and confusing enough without psychs and the media constantly suggesting that maybe you're actually a girl and that's why you're having so much trouble. That and the 'modern' idea that men and women are essentially the same, making the idea of switching between the two seem more feasible and 'not a big deal'.
Something like 50% of people who fully transition, ie. getting their genitals interfered with, end up regretting it - some because they come to realise that it was just a phase and that it's too late to undo the damage, and some because they realise that they haven't actually changed sex, they've just become a crass approximation of a man or woman - a dysfunctional 'penis' that can't get hard and pisses like a fire suppression system or a 'vagina' crafted from skin and intestinal grafts that constantly smells of shit, grows hair inside and tries to close itself because it's a literal open wound the body is trying to heal -

2020-11-11 at 12:17 AM UTCThere has to be some sacrifices to advance our understanding of surgical medicine. They shouldn't be doing surgery on people that aren't of the legal age to get cosmetic surgery.
Although for all i know in America it's probably legal to get your kid a face lift and botox if you found the right surgeon

Yeah i read those statistics as well. It's unfortunate, but if they chose to transition then really it's their own fault. That said, puberty blockers and al kinds of experimental 'treatments' with regards to this should be rigorously looked at and scientifically examined before they should be allowed to be administered to anyone of any age in any medical capacity. -
